Laura is the person who turns a conversation into a book. She's the one who sits with a subject, asks the questions no one else thought to ask, and listens for the detail that makes a life feel like a life — not a timeline.
Every project that comes through Lopiparo Press passes through Laura's hands. She conducts the interview herself, or reviews the ones Stanley has proposed and coordinates so no family is approached twice. From there, she transcribes every word, and shapes the transcript into a finished narrative of real length and real craft — never a summary, never a sketch.
When the story is ready, Laura delivers it printed and bound, and walks each client through up to two rounds of revisions, making sure the finished book sounds like the family it belongs to, not like anyone else's.
How a Story Becomes a Book
- A subject is identified — by Laura, or proposed to her by Stanley.
- Laura conducts the interview and transcribes it in full.
- She develops the transcript into a complete narrative story.
- The finished story is delivered to the client printed and bound.
- Laura guides the client through up to two rounds of edits, until it's right.
